THE AFTER-SUN RESET - AT HOME

Summer is not over yet, and it’s been sunny (almost) everywhere. After being cooped up at home due to lockdown, our skin begged for a beautiful tan, and the truth is that your SKIN deserves it.

As much as we want to run outside and bask in some Vitamin D especially after being locked inside all Spring we need not forget that the sun can also be harmful to our skin if we do not adequately protect it with the correct products. 

Since our beauty routine has gone with the wind because of these uncertain times, here are some tips and tricks as to how to reset our skin, which can easily be done in the comfort of our homes! 

  1. START YOUR MORNING WITH A BIG GLASS OF WATER AND LEMON.

    Hydration is key to having beautiful and clear skin. You must start by taking care of your insides, which means hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! As we stress all over our social media outlets, we are about inside-outside beauty! No matter your skin type, water/ lemon is beneficial not only for hydration but you get in some Vitamin C and antioxidants that help promote healthy skin.

  2. WAKE UP YOUR SKIN

    A little glow never hurt anybody, and that is why a lot of us are obsessed with Natural Water Spray (Brumisateaur, Evian, ext.). You can easily make yours by mixing mineral water and rose water! We recommend this because our skin can quickly get dehydrated throughout the day and Natural Water Spray will add hydration to your skin, and it will aid in the absorption of moisturizer and can help with smoother application of makeup, so get your spray on! 

  3. E.X.F.O.L.I.A.T.E

    Imagine you’re soaking up some sun by the beach or pool. The air is crisp, and you are relaxing by the water reading your favorite book. Sounds like a dream, right? Well, yes, it does, but after enjoying that much-needed getaway, please remember to exfoliate! Depending on your skin type, the dermatologist recommends exfoliating once a week. Some of the most significant benefits of exfoliating are removing the dead skin cells; it helps prevent acne, it unclogs pores, and helps enhance the absorption of moisturizing products. Mixed those 3 ingredients:

    • 1 tbsp Argan Oil 

    • 1 tbsp Grounded oatmeal 

    • 1 tbsp Honey

    This routine will leave your skin feeling fresh, smooth, and bright!

  4. EVEN OUT YOUR SKIN TONE

    Some areas of your skin are uneven; hyperpigmentation is the most common cause of uneven skin tone and texture, which is due to excess melanin production in the skin. Other reasons range from hereditary skin conditions to lifestyle choices, acne and scarring, and hormonal changes. The solutions? Exfoliation and hydration. Try this at a home recipe from our founder’s mom: one spoon of honey, two drops of TRUE Argan oil, and two pinches of cinnamon. Avoid around the eyes, 10 min is enough for this magical even-toner. The result: a glowing and more even skin tone.

  5. GIVE YOUR SKIN A BREAK!

    Some tips are making it extra light! Nude! Glowy! When using foundation, try not to go heavy. Try rocking your nude lip or using a nude lipstick; one of our favorites is ILIA, which is perfect. The trick is to remember less is sometimes more!

  6. YOUR FOOD!

    Unfortunately, a big part of feeling and looking good has to do with what you eat! Just know that there’s a lot of truth when you hear you are what you eat! It's okay to indulge in the foods you like, and you should never feel shameful for enjoying that piece of cake, but at TRUE we believe in a balanced lifestyle, so remember to eat all your veggies and try to avoid processed foods as much as you can!
